LSAT India

Developed specifically for use by law colleges in India, the LSAT—India™ tests for high-level reading, informal reasoning, and deductive reasoning skills. These acquired critical thinking skills are essential to succeed in both law college and in the practise of law. The LSAT—India™ will be offered twice – once in January and again in June – and will be administered online.

Applicants need to pay the application fee of Rs. 3,999 to complete the registration process.

How can I apply for admission to the 3-year B.A. Legal Studies and B.A. Criminology & Criminal Justice programs?

To apply for these programs, you need to register for the admissions application form at [this link] (https://lawadmissions.jgu.edu.in/). Then, select JSAT Law as the eligibility exam. It's not mandatory to fill the registration field. After completing the form, you can go back to your dashboard and find the "book exam slot" button. Click on it, and you'll be directed to the JSAT Law registration page.

How can I check the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application on our website. It usually takes 48-72 hours (2-3 working days) to update the status of payment made. Candidates are advised to make the application fee payment ONLY ONCE and keep proof of the payment made (Bank statement/Credit card statement) with them.

How long does it take for the online payment to get updated?

The online payment made gets updated automatically within 2-3 working days. There is NO need to make calls or send mails to check the status of admission application fee payment. Your proof of making payment, such as a bank statement/credit card statement, will be accepted.

Who is eligible for scholarships based on LSAT-India Test scores?

Students who secure LSAT-India Test scores above the 80th percentile up to the 99.99th or 100th percentile are eligible for scholarships.

What percentage of tuition fees do the scholarships cover?

Scholarships range from 10% to 75% of tuition fees, depending on the LSAT-India Test score achieved.

What happens if a student writes both the January and May Tests?

The higher of the two scores is considered for a scholarship award if a student writes both the January and May Tests.

Has there been any revision in the eligibility criteria for scholarships this year?

Yes, the University has revised the annual parental limit to INR 50 lakhs as the eligibility criterion to apply for scholarships.

What type of questions are on the test?

There are three types of questions on the LSAT—India™: Analytical Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension.

Will I be able to select my preferred test date and time’s slot?

If the number of potential test-takers permits it, you may be able to select your choice of preferred dates and time slots from those offered during a scheduling window. Test dates and slots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. LSAC will try to provide your preferred test appointment but reserves the right to determine your test appointment to meet overall scheduling needs.

What is a good LSAT INDIA score for admission to a top law school?

Admission and eligibility criteria are decided by individual law colleges accepting LSAT—India™ scores. You should check with your preferred college regarding desirable scores.

How is the LSAT INDIA different from the LSAT?

The LSAT is an admissions test for North American and Australian graduate law programmes. The LSAT—India™ is an admission test customised for Indian law colleges and is used only for admission to law colleges within India. The LSAT—India™ includes the same question types as the LSAT, but is shorter, and scores are reported on a different scale. Scores from the two tests cannot be compared.

Is there any age limit for LSAT INDIA?

There is no age restriction for candidates interested in taking the LSAT—India™. We recommend you check eligibility criteria, including any age limit, set forth by the law college you are interested in attending.
